Julia Child's Beef Bourguignon (kind of?)
I kind of made Julia Child's beef bourguignon!
I say "kind of" because I found this recipe online that cut out pearl onions (not a fan) and this recipe also showed a way to do it with various cooking methods: Traditional Oven Method, Crock Pot, Instant Pot, etc. which I appreciated. It also cut out a few steps that were timely and did not add a ton to the recipe or didn't cut out any flavor by not doing them. This is the recipe I followed! Cafe Delites: Beef Bourguignon
I followed the traditional stove top method in my Dutch oven because it seemed to be a good balance. It was crazy easy to follow and very direct, which I always appreciate. I made some mashed potatoes to go along with it and it really completed the meal. Hot potatoes and mess of butter to help a recipe, can you believe?I have been wanting to make this meal for years but never wanted to throw the apron on and do the work and it really was crazy easy. I finally got to live out my Julie and Julia fantasy- making a delicious meal and writing a blog post about it for 2-3 people to read. It’s all coming together baby!
