"New Thing" #1: Baked Spaghetti
Starting off strong on New Year’s day I pulled the trigger and did my first “New Thing”. I found this recipe a few weeks ago and just haven’t gotten around to making it yet and it was pretty solid. Go check it out! https://tastesbetterfromscratch.com/million-dollar-spaghetti/
I was still feeling a little crappy because of this croup stuff that everyone seems to be passing back and forth lately so I just wanted something warm and fairly quick and easy. It was definitely warm and while it wasn’t the easiest thing I have ever made it definitely was not the hardest (looking at you orange chicken from scratch that almost caught my oven on fire that one time 5 years ago). I liked the recipe because it swaps out the beef and ricotta for turkey and cottage cheese because I cannot stand ricotta and it seemed like the healthier alternative. I followed the recipe step by step besides swapping out the sour cream for greek yogurt. It was prepped in under an hour and took about 35 minutes to bake so it was fairly quick plus I was able to get all of the ingredients at Aldi and that always makes it way easier.
I would definitely rank this an 8/10 and I for sure will be making this again.
*Here she is in all her glory.
Well, I did it: my very first "New Thing" of the year. I have no idea what I will do for next week but that's I think researching and discovering that is going to be part of the fun! I'm kind of thinking I need a better name for "New Things", it's a little generic and a little boring If I'm being honest...
That's all for now!
